Leave it to me to find these new hidden gems in Miami. I’m IN LOVE with this place, from the decor to the fresh sushi.
FRESH. Very fresh. Fresh to death.
It’s so hard to please my Asian cuisine palette. You know, because I have one of those. But this place did it. They have only been open for 2 months and if you’re around the Midtown area, you’re in luck. It may very well become your new favorite lunch spot. Although this place is tiny in size, it packs a hell of a flavor punch.
Ok, so I may or have not had two sushi rolls, an appetizer, and a bad ass dessert all by my little ol’ self. But I did it for you!
BLUE CRAB TACOS
Nori Shell, Wakame, Avocado, Tobiko ($8)
I’m wondering when someone will come up with smell-o-vision. Until then, you must go and try these Blue Crab Tacos. Share or don’t – I would say don’t. They are THAT good. The shell is Nori, totally guilt-free stuff there. Then you get into the insides of this baby. That seaweed salad is as tasty as it is fresh and let’s not get into how good the blue crab is. Remember my name. Taco Tuesday may have a new meaning for you.
Tuna & Truffle Roll
Goat Cheese, Steam Shrimp, Crab Salad, Avocado, Tuna, Aji Amarillo, Truffle Honey ($14)
Wait what??? Goat cheese, truffle honey on sushi? Yep, you heard right and it may be the most amazing creation in the world of all sushi. When you say ANYTHING truffle, I’m there. This roll was no exception. All those flavors come together in perfect harmony and I know you’re hungry by now.
Salmon, Tuna, Hamachi, Avocado, Baby Arugula, Ginger Soy ($14.5)
If you’re all about a clean & healthy lifestyle, this roll is for you. Although, at Kraken Crudo, you can get all your rolls with your choice of rice, quinoa, or arugula. The arugula gives it a BOLD & earthy taste which I love when it’s paired with fresh raw fish. This one is definitely a go to for me for those guilt-free trips.
Yuzu Coco Panacota ($7)
As I write this, I’m this close to putting pants on and going for one more of these. Such a unique twist on traditional panacota topped with toasted coconuts and yuzu. Yuzu is also known as Yuzu Citrus or Japanese Lemon. They look and feel like fish eggs, but I’m here to tell you they are NOT. Definitely, a must try.
